Since 1976, Peckham, Inc. has led the way in providing vocational training, assessment and rehabilitation for persons with barriers to employment in Mid-Michigan. Through strong ties with community partners, Peckham continues to pursue potential and empowerment.
Peckham began as an assessment service, which assisted Michigan Rehabilitation Services in identifying capabilities and needs of persons with disabilities. It quickly became obvious to the Peckham team that these individuals would be better served through the development of business and job opportunities.
Peckham then began pursuing business contracts that provided funding for programs and real-world opportunities for persons with disabilities to develop job skills and a work history. Over time, these contracts continued to expand and enabled Peckham to broaden the programs it delivered to the community.
Today, Peckham, in conjunction with its community partners, offers a wide array of programs which provide training, assessment or rehabilitation opportunities for persons with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Peckham now operates five different affirmative industries that provide a supportive work environment while delivering world-class service and products.
Peckham continues to explore new means of building skills and supporting potential. Whether offering English language classes or exploring business support opportunities, Peckham is committed to developing the potential of program participants and the workforce of tomorrow. |
