Father Gregory Boyle, is an author, nationally renowned speaker and founder of Homeboy Industries, the world’s largest gang intervention, rehab and re-entry program. Homeboy Industries provides high-risk youth, former gang members and the recently incarcerated with a variety of free programs, such as legal services, mental healthcare and work-readiness training. Starting as a single bakery, Homeboy Industries has grown to establish many social enterprises, including a bakery, café and tattoo removal services.
Boyle will share a passionate message of kinship and community with two audiences on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Combining humor with deep compassion, his meaningful message will inspire all to lead with kindness and respect for each unique individual.
Boyle is the author of the 2010 New York Times Bestseller, “Tattoos on the Heart: the Power of Boundless Compassion." His second book, “Barking to the Choir: The Power of Radical Kinship,” is a Los Angeles Time Bestseller.
Fr. Boyle has received numerous honorary awards and accolades on behalf of Homeboy for his work with former gang members including the California Peace Prize, Civic Medal of Honor, and the White House Champion of Change.
