Justin Gargano: Finding His Path Through Purpose, Technology, and Opportunity

From a young age, computers sparked something in Justin Gargano. His stepfather brought home equipment when he was a child, and by seventh grade he was already working independently on classroom technology through the special education program. While others followed the standard routine, Justin was building the foundation for a lifelong interest in technology.

After high school, Justin searched for direction. He explored warehouse roles, shipping positions, and data-entry jobs—work that kept him connected to computers but didn’t offer long-term growth or personal fulfillment. Everything changed in 2016, when he came across a Craigslist posting for a Technical Service Representative role with Goodwill. The description felt like the right fit, and he sent in his résumé, highlighting his self-taught technical skills and his willingness to learn.

That résumé eventually led him to Peckham.
In July 2016, after months of training, interviews, and certifications, Justin joined Peckham’s Contact Center Solutions team. What he found was more than a job—it was a place where his strengths could truly shine.

Unlike the repetitive environments he had worked in before, Peckham offered the opportunity to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and support customers through real-time technical challenges. Whether resetting passwords, diagnosing software issues, or escalating complex tickets, Justin quickly discovered that he excelled in situations that required patience, critical thinking, and clear communication. His callers noticed too, with many expressing relief and gratitude when they heard his voice on the line.

As someone on the autism spectrum, Justin acknowledges that some social cues, tone, or body language nuances take intentional effort. But Peckham’s supportive environment allows him to learn, adapt, and build confidence at his own pace. He has found coworkers who understood him, leaders who encourage him, and a workplace culture that value his contributions.

For the first time, Justin says, he truly felt like he belongs.

That sense of belonging motivates him to grow even further. Outside of work, Justin studies neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), hypnotherapy, and life-coaching techniques—skills that help him better understand emotional dynamics and support customers with empathy and clarity. His calm, solution-oriented approach turn difficult calls into positive interactions. His philosophy is simple: “I understand the issue. Let’s fix it, or let’s find someone who can.”

At Peckham, Justin has discovered both stability and opportunity. His role allows him to use his strengths of pattern recognition, problem-solving, and systems thinking, while continuously developing new skills. The USDA contract he supports plays an important role in his journey, giving him the platform to grow professionally and personally.

Today, Justin is committed to ongoing self-improvement and excited for what’s ahead. He once wondered if he was the only one who thought the way he did. At Peckham, he has learned that he’s not alone—and that his perspective is not only welcome, but valued.

And with each year, he continues to exceed expectations.
