LANSING, MI– The Peckham Board of Directors has named Harry Pianko as Chief Executive Officer of Peckham. Pianko, who is currently Peckham’s Chief Financial Officer, will begin his appointment as CEO on October 1, 2025, after current CEO Jo Sperry retires this Fall.
“Harry brings more than 25 years of experience in various positions within multiple industries in the nonprofit, governmental and for-profit sectors, with 10 of those years of Peckham specific experience leading its financial health and stability,” says Peckham Board President, Michael Flowers.
“After an extensive search process, we trust that Harry is the right candidate, who will continue to successfully lead this organization toward an exciting future with the same focus on people, mission and innovation that has sustained Peckham’s success for the last five decades.”
With more than 3,000 employees, 15 locations, five social enterprises and more than 25 vocational rehabilitation services and programs, Pianko will be responsible for leading the award-winning organization’s mission, culture and overall business operations.
Pianko has been with Peckham for the last decade leading and supporting the Finance department in various leadership roles, overseeing financial strategy, operations and performance, including guiding budgeting, forecasting, risk management and long-term financial planning to support organizational growth.

Prior to joining Peckham, Inc., Harry was the CFO for the Education Achievement Authority of Michigan as well as the Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Michigan Chapter and other companies in the public accounting, real estate, and discounts and promotions industries. Harry has served on a number of boards, including as the past president of VegMichigan, for which he was selected as a member of Crain’s Detroit Business 40 under 40’s class of 2011.
Harry holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Peckham is a nonprofit vocational rehabilitation organization that provides paid job training opportunities for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment. For nearly 50 years, Peckham has provided jobs and job skills training to thousands of individuals with barriers through five different business lines throughout Michigan, and also has operations in Phoenix, Arizona and London, Kentucky.
