PECKHAM IN ACTION

Grand Rapids, MI- Peckham has been named the DEI Champion – Organization of the Year by the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce during its EPIC Award celebration. EPIC is the premier business award celebration recognizing exceptional organizations that foster community growth, demonstrate innovation, and have championed others as mentors and collaborators. There were more than 120 nominees and nine EPIC award recipients.

“When I look at the future of West Michigan, I know that it stands on the shoulders of our innovative business owners, our creative visionaries, and the determination of our leaders,” said Attah Obande, Vice President of Business and Talent Development for the Grand Rapids Chamber. “It is these EPIC Award honorees who are the ones making things happen.”

Peckham’s Grand Rapids location provides contact center and help desk jobs for nearly 200 individuals with varying abilities. The award-winning employer has been certified as a Great Place to Work for seven consecutive years and received the Gold Hire Vets Medallion Award by the U.S. Department of Labor for two consecutive years, demonstrating exemplary efforts to recruit, employ and retain veterans. Peckham has also been among organizations honored for exceptional service to others and their communities by Representative Elisa Slotkin and was included in the official Congressional Record of the People’s House.

Peckham is a nonprofit vocational rehabilitation organization that provides paid job training opportunities for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment. For more than 45 years, Peckham has provided jobs and job skills training to thousands of individuals with barriers through five different business lines throughout Michigan, with additional operations in Phoenix, Arizona and London, Kentucky.
